Virginia Green
Hi, I’m Virginia (Gini) Green, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over five years of experience supporting young people, adolescents and adults through a range of life’s challenges.
I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where people feel comfortable being themselves. I believe that everyone has strengths, even during the most difficult periods of their life, and my role is to walk alongside people, helping them build confidence, develop practical tools and work towards meaningful and lasting change.
I work with a broad range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, stress management, PTSD, workplace challenges, family and relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.
I also have a strong background and particular interest in alcohol and other drug (AOD) support, helping individuals better understand their relationship with substances and supporting them to work towards recovery in a realistic, achievable and person-centred way.
My approach is warm, authentic and down-to-earth. I believe in meeting people where they’re at, recognising that everyone’s journey is different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Building genuine therapeutic relationships is important to me, and I aim to create a space where people feel heard, validated and empowered.
I work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centred framework, incorporating evidence-based approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Together, we focus on identifying strengths, setting meaningful goals, building resilience and developing practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life.
I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives. My role isn’t to tell people what to do, but to support, guide and empower them to make changes that align with their own values, priorities and goals.
At the heart of my work is a simple philosophy: people are capable of change when they feel supported, understood and equipped with the right tools.
Whether you’re seeking support for your mental health, navigating a difficult life transition, experiencing workplace stress, managing relationship challenges or working towards recovery from alcohol and other drug concerns, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based support that is tailored to your individual needs.
Areas I commonly support people with include:
• Anxiety and depression
• Workplace stress and burnout
• Family and relationship challenges
• Alcohol and other drug support
• Emotional regulation
• Self-esteem and confidence building
• Life transitions and adjustment
• Stress management
• Goal setting and behaviour change
• Building resilience and healthy coping strategies
My approach is simple: meet people where they’re at, focus on their strengths and help them build the confidence and tools to move forward in a way that feels right for them.
