Emma Charlton

Emma is a Provisional Psychologist who takes a compassionate and collaborative approach to her work, believing that therapy is most effective when clients feel heard, understood, and supported.

Prior to pursuing psychology, Emma spent over 20 years working with children, families, and educators in schools, including roles focused on student wellbeing, improving literacy outcomes, and inclusive education. This experience, together with her work in the corporate sector, has given her a deep appreciation of the many personal, family, educational, and social factors that influence mental health and wellbeing. She is passionate about helping people build on their strengths, develop practical skills, and create positive, sustainable change.

Emma values building genuine therapeutic relationships and creating a safe, respectful space where clients can explore life's challenges, gain insight into their experiences, and work towards goals that are meaningful to them. She draws on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring therapy to each person's individual needs, strengths, values, and goals.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Education (General Primary), Master of Education (Evidence-based Teaching), Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced), and is currently completing her Master of Professional Psychology through Monash University.
