
Tanya Cantelo (Moscrop)
Tanya completed a double degree at Sydney University in Psychology and Education, and her Clinical Psychology Masters at CSU. Tanya is an independent highly experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked across a diverse range of treatment settings (NSW Health, schools, CAMHS, Headspace, NT remote outback clinics, and private practice). Tanya’s experience offers a unique skill set when working with children, adolescents, young adults and families – and she has extensive experience treating each client group. Tanya also has a great talent working with adults and couples, naturally making people feel at ease.
Tanya uses an eclectic approach to therapy individualised to specific client needs. She draws from her broad clinical training across CBT, exposure therapy, mindfulness, ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, brief solutions-focused therapy, child-centred play therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), positive psychology, non-directive perinatal counselling, Tuning Into Teens and 123-magic behavioural management programs, CBT-E and FBT – Family Based Treatment for anorexia nervosa.
With a young family of her own, Tanya is passionate about infant mental health, parenting support and attachment, perinatal and postnatal mental health (being an approved pregnancy support counsellor). Tanya’s other areas of expertise include grief and loss counselling, anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, self-harming behaviours and eating disorders.
